Kitreace D. Harris a native of Yonkers, NY better known by her stage name LadySlim is a true lover of hip hop with a heart and soul that embodies multiple talents. LadySlim also sings and writes her own R&B and Hip Hop lyrics.
She started rapping at the early age of nine. Although her performance career didn't start until she was seventeen, she was force to be reckoned with. She went up against those considered the best unsigned male rappers in NYC, with lyrics of fire that blazed through the competition that left casualties in piles of ashes as she became the victor. The body count continued and led to her going on a nine city east coast tour in 2012. Her first EP called "Just let me do me" was successfully dropped in 2012 as well.
Some of her influences include Hip Hop legends such as, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, Lauryn Hill, Nas, Jay-Z and most importantly her father. Although her father was in and out of her life his actions became the reason why she started rapping. Pen to paper became her therapy, mic in hand became her comfort blanket and the world became her sounding board. The void that wasn’t filled and all the pain is reflected in depth in her first never released hit "Why Me”. Despite being given the ever so common industry run-around and hollow promises by Yonkers Hip Hop heavies she never lost focus and continued moving forward. LadySlim is not of this time, she’s a time traveler with a mission to bring Hip Hop back to its roots. With all this trendy white noise that the industry calls rap music she stands alone, not fitting in is her rule number one. She is a God fearing woman who fears no man or woman that holds a mic, whose lyrics are relative to all, with metaphors of fire that give you that feeling of what hip hop is really all about.
LadySlim is the torch that will continue to burn and will influence everyone around her male and female as her influences before her. Her passion for her craft is revealed in her music, and is her driving force to success. She will also feature her acting skills in several roles in independent film projects produced by Dreams to Reality Films.
LadySlim is the truth and is what's needed in hip hop today. She doesn't follow trends, she sets them. In case you didn't know "its LadySlim by the way”.
